This beautiful weather is exactly what the doctor ordered!! Getting some hours clocked in the saddle, haul in lessons all weekend, time with my family! I can't ask for much more!

Breaking in the ring!

Today was a pretty cool day, largely in part because I got to coach two very special ladies. Megan was .... In fact my first boarder what feels like a Millennium ago. When she came to visit the farm she had her young daughter Clara in tow. I had the joy of helping bring her super cool TB (if you look on the website there is a pic of her jumping him over the then newly built tire jump) and her along and watched them canter around Erie HT, GVRDC, GVH to name a few, and to fulfi...ll a childhood goal of jumping around at Stuart HT. Kief was quirky to say the least but always brought his girl home. He passed the rainbow Bridge a few month's back at the ripe old age of around 30. Today I watched mother and daughter, one dusting the boots off and the other finishing her first event and it was AWESOME! There were learning moments for both teams but the smiles leaving the XC course really say it all. Today surrounded by peers, friends, smiles and a lovely fall day I could not have asked for more. Something in my gut tells me 2021 is going to be something special. Thank you to all of the volunteers at GVRDC, the land owners and officials, it was a pretty special day! See more

So today is officially the day. I stopped by one more time to run my hand down the stalls, to remember, Flapper, and Jack and Goldika, I cried, from the second I got out of the car and most of the drive home. So many laughs, so many tears over the years and yes blood and a shit load of sweat. The memory of literally going in to labor while finishing up stalls, the first and last gallop around the fields, the lessons, the cook outs, the Sunday mimosas... The list goes on and o...n. I would be amiss if I did not thank my clients.., my friends, that made WWS at 2856 Cannan Road what it was. There are never enough thank yous for my parents and very tolerant husband. Even though I have been out for a week, today it officially is no longer mine, and to be truthful I am struggling with that. Relief that it's over, sadness for the feeling of loss, and anger for feeling like a bit of a failure despite so many factors for the change of direction being out of my hands. It's not over it's just a change and I am truly excited to get up tomorrow and see where things go from here. I'm excited to be able to travel and teach more, excited to get my horses and career going again and I'm excited to see what's around the bend. Twilight dressage was a fun success!! It is so lovely to get out and about with clients and their lovely horses!!

Even if most shows in 2020 have not happened it is still nice to see organizations realizing the versatility and acceptance of their recognized breeds in "outside of the box" disciplines.
