Our farm is all about raising our food and we have learned alot. I have not bought meat from a store in about 4 years. Its has helped me only need work a few days a week.. so I am able to spend alot of time with my kids. I am so happy to be able to live like this.. We keep our freezers stocked well. Rabbits are the easiest, quickest and cheapest animal that I like to raise, very delicious, very healthy and about 3+ lbs of meat each. I have 1 buck and 4 does right now but have found out I only really need 2 does. They will produce enough meat for our family. This was the last butcher until I start breeding again in a couple months. And its 3 months before more will be ready. I do sell for pets also. These are New Zealand Californian cross. Are always a mix of black ones, white ones and the Californian color. so they do get big.

Raising our own meat is what we will keep doing. Teaching our children to live and raise meat from the land. This year again, we are hoping to purchase 100 Red Ranger chicks to raise and sell, processed/vacuum sealed. They are always kept very clean. Are separated to small groups as they grow and are moved constantly to fresh grass a couple times a day and more as they get older. I love doing this. Its lots of work/time. But the taste and quality of meat is worth it to me. And that is for each animal I raise for meat.

Flash has went to a new home today. With some goats more like her, quiet and shy. She has just been getting bullied alot lately by the others, not fair to her at all.
