Check out the amazing artwork by our Wading River School students! Thank you to Mrs. Pettruzellis for making this happen. She’s is wonderfully dedicated to promoting the creativity of her students. Bravo! #SWRWHAM
To the small army of volunteers who showed up tonight to help at the HS: THANK YOU!!! You’re amazing for lending us your time & effort! Could not have done it without you. What IT is will be seen tomorrow. Great cooperative effort thanks to SWR High School PTSA SWR Wildcat Athletic Club and WHAM

It’s just volume of) If you can give us a half hour to an hour, please comment here and we will PM you what it is. It’s a surprise..so don’t want to post the details. Last evening at our Fine Arts Senior Celebration, the Wildcats Helping the Arts & Music awarded 4 scholarships: 3 WHAM & our Andrew McMorris Memorial Scholarships We were thrilled to have more applications than prior years. Thanks to your generous support, it was the most $$ we have awarded in a year, along with the largest number of award recipients. Congratulations to Emma Longboat, Grace McMillan, Kaylee Thomsen and Nicole Armbrecht
Just the beginning of the return of performing arts in Covid conditions! We’re not done advocating to make other theater and music performances happen. Thank you Emma Longboat and Sara Grosso for having the courage to speak at the Board of Ed meeting to advocate for yourselves! Student leadership is needed to make this happen. Parents & students be assured we’re not stopping advocating until all students have performance opportunities. If kids can wrestle.., kids can sing, act, and play instruments safely even in Covid restrictions. The more voices the stronger the case! Reach out to your principals and music teachers. We can do this!
NYSSMA is happening this year! Please read the following and join the google meet next week for all details and have questions answered.
Just came from our Board of Education meeting to advocate for music and theater performances to happen this year. Very proud and thankful to Sara & Lila Grosso and Emma Longboat for speaking to the Board of Ed to give student perspective on why it’s important to have performances. We were heard, and given the green light to make plans to perform and broadcast virtually, to adhere to Covid protocols. We are incredibly grateful to our school administration & BOE for their support of the performing arts. We have successfully maintained music & theater education classes in Covid conditions. It’s time to take things to the next level and give our students the chance to perform. Please send an email to Mr Poole & our BOE to support the initiative to make virtual performances happen, and thank them for their support of the performing arts.
Top story of 2020 Without question!
May Christmas magic and the belief that you can make your dreams come true, be the inspiration that brings us through the rest of 2020 and into 2021. (Thanks #CarterRubin) Wishing all our WHAM fans a happy & healthy holiday break!
