R.I.P. Peter Serkin. A remarkable artist who appeared at Windham Chamber Music Festival in 2011. The program was long and heavy and he was concerned about its length. After the Diabelli Variations he asked me "What was the timing?" I said I hadn't kept track. He said "I played it as fast as I could!" We both laughed and then went to the reception. A wonderful memory, and a special treat to turn pages for him on the first half of the concert.
