Hello Y’all! I’d like to share a bit about this new page called Beyond Events by Michael Y, created by me, Michael Yanney! 2020 has been a challenging year for ...most everyone, one way or another. I’ve always had a passion to organize community initiative projects, beyond just the normal dinner events, to help those in need. Whether it be seasonal needs, food, or help after disasters, I decided this year I wanted to expand my reach and involve more of the community. Beyond Events by Michael Y is a platform for people to easily support projects that directly impact our neighbors in need throughout the greater Mohawk Valley. With the help of our first host sponsor Wisk Baking Company of Utica and supporting sponsors such as McDonald's, Keating Insurance, and D'Arcangelo & Co., LLP, we just completed the Halloween Treat Bags for Local Children project, our first community initiative. Over 100 local children with disabilities AND their siblings received Halloween treat bags delivered to their door so they could enjoy Halloween in a COVID safe manner. The next project (stay tuned for more info in the days to come) will be Stockings for Seniors. We all know 2020 has been a lonely and scary year for senior citizens. Stay tuned to see how you can help bring smiles and joy to our aging neighbors this holiday season.
