WJA New York Metro 21.01.2021

Today's #membermonday features members of the NY Metro Board Marco Giovanelli is Metro's VP of Programming for 2021 and is approaching his 3rd year as a member of WJA! Italian born and raised, Marco moved to #NY in 2009 and built a new career for himself with @giovanelliconsulting, a business development firm working with luxury brands.... He enjoys solving problems, creating meaningful strategies, and always aiming to learn and improve professionally and personally. As VP of Programming, he wants to build curated events with the purpose of delivering meaningful experiences to our Chapter members. His motto? The Horizon Has No Limits! Delphine Leymarie has been a member of the WJA NY Metro chapter since 2012, and this will be her 4 th year on its board as Treasurer. French-born, Delphine designs and crafts her ethical, luxe eponymous fine jewelry line, @delphinejewelry, in #NYC. Drawing inspiration from the blissful beaches of her childhood in the South of France & the invigorating energy of the modern urban architecture now surrounding her, she favors empowering and protective symbols crafted in recycled 18k gold paired with mindfully selected gems. Believing in luxury with a conscience, she hand carves her jewels with the intention to create small, sparkly sculptures that can adorn your body and elevate your soul! Laura Remmen is beginning her 2nd year on the WJA NY Metro Board, this year as the VP of mentorship! @ljjb153 is looking forward to designing a program that builds networking opportunities for mentors and mentees and learning and development opportunities for chapter members to develop their careers! #Membership #businesswomen #womensupportingwomen #womenempowerment #Womensjewelryassociation #wjanewyorkmetro #jewelry #events #digitalexperience #italiantouch #supportingwomen #growth #businessdevelopment #luxurybrands #lifestyle #experience See more

How could we not talk about Kamala's pearls for #fridayfunfactfave?! Madam Vice President Kamala Harris wore this beautiful pearl necklace design by Wilfredo Rosado for her inauguration. The necklace features Australian South Sea pearls accented with set in oval 18KT gold links. Rosado’s fashion career started as a Fashion Director of Warhol’s celebrated interview magazine and after that, he worked at Giorgio Armani in Milan. Rosado’s love affair for jewelry started... while he was in Italy gaining experience in fashion and in fine arts, and he started to design pieces for himself. There Rosado also found a new sense of refinement and obsession for artisanal details. On Rosado’s return to #NYC, he collaborated with Versace in the creation of a jewelry collection with leading artists such as Julian Schnabel and Marc Quinn, in support of the Whitney Museum of American Art. In 2011 Rosado launched his jewelry collection featuring designs with superb craftsmanship, modern style with edge, and sophistication. His designs have been worn by celebrities such as #GwynethPaltrow, #JuliaRoberts, #Rihanna and #MariahCarey. What’s a favorite jewelry spot you can’t wait to visit when travel is possible again? For our VP of Communications Victoria Rogers it’s Place Vendôme! Whenever I am traveling, I always find it difficult to shake the NYC walking pace, but that is not the case in Place Vendôme! The glacially slow pace which I walk around Place Vendôme with would lap the speed of a . There is so much beautiful jewelry and architecture to soak in! My favorite activities include gazin...g in the windows of every Maison, taking tours of the Hôtel Particuliers (Boucheron’s is spectacular), taking classes at L'École des Arts Joailliers avec le soutien de Van Cleef & Arpels, and for truly special occasions, afternoon tea at the Ritz! #Womensjewelryassociation #wjanewyorkmetro #jewelry #NYC #fridayfave #fridayfunfactfave #paris #placevendome #parisianjewelry See more

Today's #membermonday is @adriannesanogo Adrianne studied at the world-renowned Gemological Institute of America where she earned a GIA Graduate Gemologist diploma, a Graduate Pearl diploma, and an Applied Jewelry Professional certificate. Her gemology journey was inspired by an enduring passion for gems and minerals along with a desire to make the most of the new perspectives she gained after winning a battle against cancer. Studying the complex and fascinating worl...d of gems and minerals was an important facet in Adrianne's successful healing. Beyond the Business Administrator role at an Ivy League University in Philadelphia, she assists law enforcement as an expert in identifying gems and jewelry with the goal of reuniting the pieces with their owners. She enjoys working with consignment and vintage jewelry stores to accurately identify and describe jewelry inventory for sale. As an educator, she informs and advises the public across several platforms about the correct identification and care of gems, minerals, and jewelry in private collections or future purchases. Her latest venture began in November 2020 as a founding Board Member and Education Chair of the newly formed @blackinjewelrycoalition. BIJC strives for the advancement of Black professionals within the gem, jewelry, and watch industry through networking, education, representation, and an abundance of resources. On a personal note, Adrianne is the proud mother of two daughters, one son, one Tabby , and one Chow Chow . "I am a visionary thinker with tenacity, ingenuity, and fearlessness. Well before being formally educated at GIA, I successfully sought out and identified fine jewelry and gems from various sources. I have been told by those who know me well that I have a non-traditional perspective, which gives me the ability to envision alternate outcomes and solutions." #adriannesanogo #igemologist #Womensjewelryassociation #wjanewyorkmetro #jewelry #NYC #Membership #businesswomen #girlpower #womensupportingwomen #womeninart #womenempowerment See more
