Woodbury Jewish Center Room #1

Happy Wednesday everyone!!! Today we had a snowy day and all of our friends were so excited. We decided to do a snow and winter activity for the occasion! Each friend got a box where we made fake snow! We put different snow animals inside of it and everyone had to dig through the box to find them! Our friends were so exicted and even the teachers were to see how real the snow looked and felt especially being so cold! Each time we added water the snow grew more and more. We al...so each got to make our own snow flakes! We got different color beads and added them onto the colorful snow flakes. The beading really helps the kids with their pincer grips, dexterity, and concernctraion, hand eye coordination, colors, and patterns. They really impressed us all with their skill and their eagerness to jump in and start beading We hung them up in the classroom and they look beautiful! Soon we will bring them home for our families to see!! See more

Happy Monday room #1!!!! Today when our friends came into the classroom we had some new activities for them! We had letter and number puzzles. Our friends were all so excited to do it that there was a line to take turns! It was amazing too see how they were all able to say most of the letters and numbers and put it in the correct spot! They sat there and were so focused on getting it right! Some of our friends loved that we brought in old phones! They pretended to be on the ...phone and order the teachers pizza! We continued our day with going to the gym where we always have a blast! Our friends love to play catch with all the different size balls and are getting really good at throwing and catching them! When we came back to the classroom we played the matching sock game again which has become a class favorite! Each friend got a sock, waited patiently until their name was called and when it was picked up which sock matched theres! While we were already on the carpet playing this game, we also played the letter game. Where we would hold up a letter and whoever’s name began with that letter got to go into the middle of the circle and jump and dance!! All of our friends absoutley loved this!! Before lunch we then played out our new pink play-doh! We cannot wait for a week filled with more activities! See more

Shabbat Shalom everybody. It was so nice to see everyone again. We have been getting back into the swing of things and will be focusing on winter next week.

Happy Tuesday everybody!!! We had a great day and we’re lucky with the weather since we got to go outside! At the nature playground we played with all of our favorite animals and our friends are starting to become so good at learning how to play the different instruments! We had a new activity today in the classroom where we each got different color socks. We laid them all out on the floor and played a matching game! It was amazing to see how smart our friends are and knew exactly which sock matched with its pair. We can’t wait for the rest of the week with many more new activities to come!!
