For those of you who are embracing the compassion and inclusivity of the new administration, and have the time and inclination to do volunteer work, may we suggest the Food Bank of the Southern Tier. In 2019 they served over 21,000 people a week, and in the past year the pandemic has greatly exacerbated food insecurity in our region (and everywhere else). The Food Bank takes COVID very seriously, and safeguards its volunteers while still getting the job done. Every day but S...unday there are volunteer opportunities in their Elmira warehouse, and at mobile food pantries across the region. We know that each of us are doing what we can to make our community, state and country a more just and equitable place.
