Wyandanch Volunteer Fire Company Incorporated

Today as we were training on our new quint 1-10-4 someone stopped to grab our attention and reported that they saw smoke and flames coming from a nearby residential area. Since we had already had the new rig fully equipped we decided why not get some live hands on training with it. Upon arrival a small rubbish fire was discovered to the rear of a residence threatening a nearby shed. One line was quickly pulled from 1-10-4 and put into operation. 1-10-4 is a Pierce Enforcer Q...uint with an 107' aerial ladder, pump, water tank, foam tank and carries heavy rescue/extrication tools. This all purpose piece of apparatus will better serve our fast growing and changing community. 1-10-4 will be in full service shortly. This afternoon we responded to a reported brushfire. Upon arrival a small 25' x 25' area of brush was found burning on Little East Neck Rd opposite of the Wyandanch High School. Our members stretched booster lines from brush truck 1-10-6 and quickly extinguished the fire. All units were under the Command of Chief Aaron Ron.

This morning we were requested for an engine to assist Melville Volunteer Fire Department with a structure fire at a nursery on Burrs Lane. Engine 1-10-1 responded along with Asst. Chiefs 1-10-31,32 & 33. Our members were under the Command of Asst. Chief Jeff Archer
