NEWS: The South African COVID-19 variant has been confirmed in a Nassau County resident. We don’t believe the South African variant is more deadly, but it may b...e more contagious. The best response is to continue the tried and true precautions: wearing masks, avoiding social gatherings, distancing, and staying home and getting tested when sick. Case numbers and positivity rates in Nassau County continue to drop but we need to keep that progress going. Nassau County is NY’s leading large County in vaccinations according to State data, and we’ll continue to get as many shots in arms as quickly as we can.

Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the Town Board, in partnership with muddworks of Great Neck, are proud to announce a special Valentine’s Day themed craft workshop ...for children in North Hempstead. The craft kit will feature a ceramic heart eye emoji and foam hedgehog to be constructed and decorated. Kits will be available to children, ages 4 to 8, residing in North Hempstead. Beginning on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at noon, visit: YouTube.com/TownOfNorthHempstead to watch the step-by-step instructional video for the project. Families can request the craft kits by calling 311 or 516-869-6311. The limit is two kits per household and the deadline to request a kit is Friday, February 5, 2021 at 5 p.m. or until supplies last. The crafts will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis and mailed to homes.

Registration open for the 2020- 2021 school year. Our program begins September 21st, 2020 and will operate Monday to Friday, 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm on the Westbury School District Calendar. Rental Relief Program announced by the office of Nassau County Executive Laura Curran . The Nassau County COVID-19 Rental Assistance Program is designed to as...sist residents struggling to pay their rent due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Community Development Corporation of Long Island (CDC-LI) will administer the program, which will cover up to three months of unpaid rent as of April 2020 for households earning no more than 80% of Area Median Income (AMI). Rental assistance payments will be made directly to the property owner or property manager. Beginning on January 6, 2021, CDC-LI will ask interested residents to submit an Initial Inquiry Form, which will allow CDC-LI staff to make an initial determination about the potential applicant’s eligibility. The Initial Inquiry Form will be available online beginning at 8:00 am on January 6, 2021 at www.cdcli.org/.
