The Yonkers Chamber of Commerce wishes to thank New York Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital for generously sponsoring our first "Virtual Networking Breakfast." More than 60 Chamber members and friends joined our "Google Meet" session to hear remarks from Michael J. Fosina, President, NYP Lawrence Hospital, with updates and available programs at Lawrence. The Chamber also welcomed Mayor Mike Spano who shared vital and current information about our City. We thank all those who participated in this important forum. It truly indicates the vitality and strength of our Chamber. As you can see from the attached photos, social distancing and mask requirements were enforced. Those are big smiles behind those masks!

Calling All Businesses: The Yonkers Chamber of Commerce recently secured an Employment and Training Job & Placement Program Grant to prepare individuals with job readiness for job placements. As you know, the Chamber of Commerce has over twenty years of experience working with individuals in this capacity. We Need Your Help!... Andrus Updates: Through diligent planning and continuous re-assessments of the environment and the world around us, ANDRUS continues to do what is best for not only the 4,500 children and families that we serve, but for all of us as a collective whole. ... At the height of the pandemic, our Residential Program remained open and continued to find new ways to engage our children and families. The Orchard School team successfully closed out the school year while diligently working on engaging children on our distant learning platforms. During this shutdown, the campus and school’s clinical team’s strategic plan efforts have not ceased and have been heavily focused on family engagement and support. Also in Yonkers, our Community Division’s Healthy Families New York (HFNY) program has 56 families enrolled and 123 families in pre-assessment. Within their homes or in neighborhood centers, ANDRUS works closely with each family to help promote the healthy development, school readiness, and literacy skills of their children at critical junctures in their lives. The number of families enrolling in the programs in our Community Division continues to increase and only speaks to the rising need we are actively addressing among children and families during the pandemic. The ANDRUS Yonkers Mental Health Clinic is continuing to provide mental health services to children, adolescents and families, and has transitioned to phone and video sessions. Many of our families experienced an increase in anxiety and depression, triggered by the realities of the pandemic and the unknown of the future, and ANDRUS was able to offer treatment including play therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Parent Child Interaction Therapy, and psychiatry services. We also were able to begin treatment with new clients seeking support, including parents, caregivers and siblings of clients already receiving ANDRUS services. ANDRUS has seen the generosity of the community come to life during these last few months and are so gracious for the support we’ve received, specifically through grants. Yonkers families who are severely challenged by COVID-19 are getting direct food aid thanks to The Community Fund & United Way; families will be better protected when AELC reopens in September thanks to the support of People’s Bank Community Fund, and Children’s Hope Chest has made families and employees safer by providing thousands of face masks to ANDRUS Juliana Fondacaro Director of Donor Cultivation and Community Outreach ANDRUS c. Quick Progressive Computing, Inc. (PCI) update: We’ve been open the entire time (albeit all remotely). We are designated an essential business. We’ve started phasing employees back in using 4 phases. This week starts phase 3 which will have 75% of our team back in office. PCI is following all state safety guidelines... We’ve managed to actually GROW during this time. Work from home has been a huge part of our work in Mark and April. We suspect RETURN TO WORK will be a big deal in the coming weeks.
