Last night's wonderful ZOOM presentation about the Alexander Smith and Sons' Carpet Company hosted more than 130 participants. Many thanks to Angelique Piwinski for a marvelous program, and to Michael Walsh of the YPL and YHS for setting it all up. The Yonkers Historical Society's collaboration with the Yonkers Public Library to present topics of interest to our constituents and members will continue in January. On January 21 at 6 PM, author Patricia Vaccarino will discus...s her book: The Death of the Library: A Tragedy. The book is about the controversial decision to destroy the Carnegie Library. Stay tuned for details.
30 minutes until the ZOOM presentation on the Alexander Smith & Sons Carpet Company presentation by Angelique Piwinski. Follow this link at 6 pm to join the program, co-sponsored by YHS and Yonkers Public Library: https://zoom.us/j/92466752266... See you soon!

Save the date for the return of one of our Key To History award winners to present a program that is co-sponsored by the Yonkers Historical Society. Our friend Angelique Piwinski will discuss The History of the Alexander Smith and Sons' Carpet Company. We all know elders who worked at "The Carpet Shop". Tune in and learn more about that historical factory complex.
When you are busy being generous today, please remember the Yonkers Historical Society. Like so many organizations that have had to postpone or cancel their major fundraising events, YHS needs your help more than ever. Please donate what you can. Every dollar makes a difference.... Thank you.
Check out this new historic video page added to the Yonkers Historical Society website featuring videos by Michael Stephen Gross. Thanks, again, Michael!
