Though originally from California, @your.art.gallery artist Robert Dunn @ecstaticlightphoto is the epitome of a New Yorker: passionate, inspired, resolute, and relentlessly creative. NYC has been the backdrop to his rise and success since the ‘80s, when he recalls living in a $90/month apartment in the East Village. Waiting out the pandemic at his home in Woodstock, New York has proven challenging for Dunn to shoot street photosbut, like New Yorkers always do, he’s finding a way to make it work. We are so excited to announce that we've picked a winner of the Yamba Malawi + ARTS THREAD + YAG Artist Challenge! Congratulations Poppie Robertson @familyillustrations_ ! Poppie's project, The Sun Will Shine Again Series was inspired by the 'simple luxuries' in life such as clean running water, shelter and warmth, things that many of us take for granted everyday. Bold and bright colors reflect the soul and spirit of the Mawali people, the many tribes, the enthusiastic child...ren and optimistic mothers and fathers who pray for a better future for their families. We'd also like to thank all of the artists that submitted their work to help raise awareness on this wonderful organization. You can shop the collection of all of the finalists here; https://bit.ly/3fQpyuH #artist #artistchallenge #artoftheday
Dad, why didn’t you tell us how good you were? - Phil Kaufman remarks. For all those celebrating Father's Day, it seemed like a fitting tribute to share this touching Father/Son story from YAG Artist Phil Kaufman, in our interview he talks about connecting with his late father, Irving Kaufman, whilst cataloging his father's collection of historic photos. "It has been a joy and a revelation for me to see the world through my father’s eyes. I’m proud of my father like I neve...r could be while he was alive, and that’s both a sad and a wonderful feeling".
