I’ve committed to doing 30 Floats in 30 days here is what has happened so far! First float on the first day of my period. Curse or godsend? I was terribly irritable and my lower back pain was at a 8 from 1-10. The anxiety of this year, the holiday season, and everything in between had fully come to the surface. The first 15 mins into my float can tend to be the most chaotic. Thoughts go in and out. Around 20 mins I have settled in. This float felt like I had just a little bit... of air our of a tire about to pop. Comparing to 5th float First ten mins or so thoughts come to the surface. Usually all my anxiety rearing its head but after that I didn’t have one thought cross my mind for a majority of my float. Then I got to a sweet spot and didn’t have one invasive thought. I sat in pure self love & acceptance. I have had degrees of this in the tank before but never like this. My whole body was pulsing with goosebumps for what felt like 4 minutes straight. From an outsider looking in I watched a timeline of growth from the past 10 years. When I looked at my past self now there was no judgement just acknowledgment, and watched all the avenues I have taken within the last decade to grow and I reveled in it. That went on for a while. Fast forward to the last ten minutes of my float. Usually this is the most enjoyable for me. However, this time I was overtaken with anxiety. It was almost as if my 20 something year programming of self doubt and anxiety wanted to override this moment of acceptance. Noting that this is another muscle I will need to strengthen as I go. We place affirmations on our cork board to help floaters set an intent for their float in hopes that it will bring some light in your life. This year has been filled with challenges that have us feeling quite far from perfect. So as 2020 comes to an end we have placed affirmations on the board centered around hope, positivity, and self forgiveness. Perfect is unattainable. Though we try very hard to hit that mark. We drive ourselves crazy trying to hit that mark. This year was a huge realization of how human we are and how unattainable perfect really is. We continue to make it through but that mark we are aiming for now is much softer, kinder, & understanding.

Last weekend, I went into a sensory deprivation tank. In this tank, I was pretty much cut off from light, sound, touch etc... (ALL EXTERNAL STIMULATION) Just ...imagine floating in only a foot of water the same temperature as your body along with 1,000 lbs of epsom salt & you just float around in complete pitch black darkness, & complete silence.
