WHY DANCE? I believe every child should dance. The benefits of dance are limitless. Self Confidence: The opportunity to perform on stage in front of an audience boosts the self-confidence of the child and develops in them a sense of self-awareness and accomplishment that can never be taken away.... Physical Coordination: The demands of learning to physically move hands, arms, legs, etc., in coordination is wonderfully challenging. Learning to synchronize these movements with a number of other students builds an amazing sense of comradeship and pride not just in oneself, but in one’s classmates. Musicality: A basic understanding of the moods and rhythms of music are developed in learning to dance. This understanding of one of man’s oldest artistic pursuits enables the student to better appreciate the world in which we live, and can lead to the development of a much healthier outlook on life. Health: A student’s physical and mental fitness is enhanced by the regular exercise and love of movement with dance gives them. Whether it can be classical moves in ballet, the more contemporary steps of jazz and hip hop or the strenuous activities of acrobatic classes, dance builds a strength of body and character which will be with the student forever.

Keep in mind that if certain classes do not fill up then we may change them to a different genre or age. Group classes must have at least 5 students. Max for classes this year is still 12 but in some cases we are willing to take on an extra student. Class size is limited so please be sure you are going to commit for the whole season when registering. In the event that a class is full we will put you on a wait list until October 4th. Deadline for any new student coming into the studio this year will be November 26th due to costume orders going out the following week. We hope to see you all for our 11th season!

AUDITIONS for SUMMER THEATER PRODUCTION of "ORPHANS!" Auditions for roles will be Monday, July 19th at 4 pm at ZION. Besides a one act musical called, Orphans we will be doing scenes from Annie and Oliver as well. Looking for children and teens who can sing and act. Rehearsals will be afternoon/evenings July 26th-September 2nd with a tentative show date on September 3rd. Day for rehearsals would depend on who they are cast as. There will be no rehearsals on Fridays or weekend...s. Students must be prepared to sing a song. You can bring a CD or mail me their mp3 backing track to [email protected] Students will also do a cold reading. We will work with younger children who don't read yet

Do you have a mini who loves to dance? ZION will be holding a camp for age 4-6, July 12-16th from 9-11:30 am each day ending with a small showcase for the parents. Students will learn ballet, jazz, acrobatics, tap, and also have some fun game time. Cost is $125 for the full week or $25 per day.
