Our community is very lucky to have Residents Forward and Transition Town Port Washington. These two organizations are always going above and beyond to keep our community clean and beautiful. Thank you for organizing the shoreline cleanup this morning. with/Senator Anna M. Kaplan
Perfect way to educate. We enjoyed participating in Live at Five at the Science Museum of Long Island
Please join us Saturday!
Look out for volunteer opportunities, show love on social media, and show up to town halls to sing the praises of public green space.
NYS Senator Liu has introduced legislation to ban gas leaf blowers for 4 summer months. Please use this link to tell him you support this legislation. http://huntingtoncalm.org/take-action-in-new-york-state/ Then contact your local State Assembly-person and State Senator to tell them you support Senator Liu's bill to eliminate gas leaf blowers during summer months. Senate Bill S1113. They will be the ones that vote for or against and need to know there is support from... their constituents. You can find who your legislators are with the links below. https://nyassembly.gov/mem/ https://www.nysenate.gov/find-my-senator
The Town of North Hempstead Encourages Residents to Recycle Live Christmas Trees. This holiday season, North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth, the Town Board..., and the Town’s Solid Waste Management Authority, encourage residents to recycle their live Christmas trees. The Town urges all residents to help our environment by reducing, reusing and recycling. Residents can leave live Christmas trees curbside on normal yard waste collection days for the first two weeks of January in accordance with their collector’s schedules. Schedules can be found at: www.northhempsteadny.gov/CollectionSchedules. Please remove all decorations, lights, ornaments, tinsel, stands and any plastic bag or plastic wrapping used to transport the tree to the curb. Place the plastic bag or plastic wrapping in your trash receptacle. Additionally, residents can also dispose of their Christmas trees at the Town’s Residential Drop-Off Program at the Transfer Station, 999 West Shore Road, Port Washington, on Sundays that the Drop-Off is operating. January dates for the Residential Drop-Off are January 10, 2021 and January 24, 2021. Please visit: www.northhempsteadny.gov/ResidentDropOff or call 311 for more information.
