American Legion Auxiliary Unit 156 10.10.2021

For God and Country, we associate ourselves together for the following purposes: To uphold and defend the constitution of the United States of America; to maintain law and order; to foster and perpetuate a one hundred percent Americanism; to preserve the memories and incidents of our associations during all Wars; to inculcate a sense of individual obligation to the community, state and nation; to combat the autocracy of both the classes and the masses; to make right the master of might; to promote peace and goodwill on earth; to safeguard and transmit to posterity the principles of justice, freedom, and democracy; to participate in and contribute to the accomplishment of the aims and purposes of The American Legion; to consecrate and sanctify our association by our devotion to mutual helpfulness.

Directive from American Legion Commander: Fellow Veterans and Auxiliary members, please listen to and/or reach out to Veterans. American Legion Buddy Check! This is going to be a tough week for those veterans that fought in the Global War on Terrorism and their families. The imminent fall of Kabul will bring up the questions of: What was it for? Why did my friends die in a war and in a country we are simply walking away from? For many there will be an overwhelming feeling of ...despair. Those of us that fought in Vietnam, know the questions and the feelings all too well. In fact the fall of Afghanistan may reawaken those feelings for you. If you know a veteran from this war, reach out. Make sure they are okay. Help if you can, and if you can’t help them know that assistance for veterans is available. Veterans Crisis Line (https://www.veteranscrisisline.net/get-help/hotline ) If you’re a Veteran in crisis or concerned about one, there are caring, qualified VA responders standing by to help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.Call 1-800-273-8255 and Press 1.
