The members of the Baldwinsville Police Department are heartbroken over the passing of former Communications Officer Sarah Perkins. Sarah served with our Department from 1999-2002 and her family are long-time friends with our staff. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Perkins family as we simply have no words to adequately express our sadness. https://falardeaufh.com//10225/Sarah-Perkins/obituary.html

The members of the Baldwinsville Police Department would like to express our deepest condolences to the family of former Communications Officer Larry Schuler. If you called the PD during the daytime on Saturday or Sunday’s in the 1980’s or 90’s, the first person you most likely spoke with was Larry. He was an important part of the Police Department canoe trips, where members of the department took local youths to the Adirondack Mountains for a week trip of canoeing and lear...ning about life. Larry was also quite fond of playing practical jokes on the new members of the department - Chief Lefancheck recalls the following; It was 1987 and I had just been told I was being hired and hadn’t even been appointed yet, but had been asked to ride a 3-11 shift with Officer Mark Augustus. All of a sudden Mark comes into the PD with this good sized guy with his hands cuffed in front of him and told me to watch him. The guy looks at me dressed in my shirt and tie and snarled who the heck are you, the Chief? I replied - no, not yet - and then he says, you ain’t ever gonna make Chief and if you take these cuffs off I’ll kick your butt. All of a sudden Officer Augustus comes back into the room and takes the man’s cuffs off and the guy stands up ready for a fight and I’m thinking what kinda place is Baldwinsville, I’m getting into a fight before I even get sworn in and then Officer Augustus says, Mike - have you met C/O Larry Schuler yet??? as both of them howled in laughter as Larry punched me in my arm. Larry had a heart of gold and the stories of his time here will continue to live on for the next generation. Rest easy Larry, we have the watch from here.
