A few pictures of the NACC Capri's first attempt at arriving. She came in at 1:12 and exited at 1:54. The tug Vermont was called to an SOS call for a sailboat.... The NACC Capri tried to enter without a tug but couldn't get it right and left to anchor outside the harbor and try again when the Vermont would be available. At least I got to visit with Allen Murphy, Jim Lehmann and Patrick Roward (Sean). (10-24-2020) See more

The Museum has lost a great friend and a tireless volunteer. He was President of the Museum from 2010 to 2017 and was on the Board of Directors until his death. His talents, knowledge and friendship will be missed by all at the Museum.

Belated birthday anniversary shout-out to Canvass White, born Sept. 8, 1790 in Whitestown, New York. While working as an assistant to Benjamin Wright on the ear...ly Erie Canal, White walked more than 2,000 miles across England to study their canals, and developed a form of cement that hardened underwater. This hydraulic cement was extremely valuable to the waterway's success, and became used throughout its walls, locks, and other structures. See more
