When the weather and/or circumstances beyond your control force you to interrupt your physical practice, counter by 1. Spend physical training time on Mental Imagery Practice - if you are not sure how - ask any Senior. 2. Practice in place at home or on whatever space you have available. Unavailability of time or space is No Excuse for slacking - when I see you in the Spring show me Progress. As long as you maintain your interest, I choose to maintain and welcome my obligat...ion. 'Martial Arts is a challenge to ourselves and not to another one. It is not meant to determine who is the better man today but rather to suggest that with more practice, perhaps tomorrow we may be better than we are today.' -Ben Otake-

Last night the Temperature was below Freezing. It was the coldest class ever, and yet there were more students present than since the cold weather started. This is the correct response from practitioners of Authentic Martial Arts. My Master would approve. With that Attitude and degree of Commitment, our members would have done well in Chinatown. In the Real Martial Arts, we do Not Quit.... -Sifu Joe Erezuma

Last night the temperature was in the 30's and with the breeze it was probably closer to freezing. Every Single member of the Senior Class currently attending the school was in attendance. There were No Complaints, no stupid jokes, just Good Swordplay. Years from now when these Seniors are teaching their own students, they can set a fine example to them by talking of the times they trained in freezing weather because it was the right thing to do when they were wrongly force...d out of their school. Honor won in youth only grows with age, while Dishonor, like a scar on a tree, time can never erase, but only enlarges. This is the Way Of The Warrior. - Sifu Joe Erezuma (Senior Students without Facebook account was Not tagged & will receive this message through Text)
