Chaumont, NY James E. Golden, 83, of County Route 179 passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Samaritan Medical Center due to complications related to dementia. James was born to the late Clarence and Virginia Golden on February 13, 1937 and grew up in Lowville, NY. Jim enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. at 17 years of age and was a proud veteran. He married Patricia Davoy and started a family. This marriage later ended in divorce. Jim owned a successful trucki...ng and storage company. He later married Ann Carone and together they had many local business endeavors. Most notable were Golden’s Marina & Campground, a modular home sales company, and a construction and excavation business. He was also known for his time serving as the supervisor of the Town of Lyme. Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and close friends. He appreciated living in the country where he had a small farm and was able to spend countless hours with his grandchildren. Jim also loved to travel and make a stop along the way at the casino. The family would like to thank all of the nurses on Pavilion 4 and Jackie in ICU for giving Jim the care that mattered and supporting his loved ones. Jim is survived by his brother, Ronald, his children, grandchildren, many great grandchildren, extended family and too many friends to count. Jim is predeceased by his wife, Ann; his parents, Clarence and Virginia Yousey; a son, Michael; a brother Edward Jack; and a nephew, Tom. Arrangements have been entrusted with to Becker-Cleveland Funeral Home. A private family burial was held at Calvary Cemetery, Utica, NY on Thursday, November 19, 2020. Robert L. Larry Daymont, 70, LeRay Street Watertown died on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at home surrounded by family and under the care of Jefferson County Hospice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cleveland Funeral Home, Watertown, NY. Mr. Daymont was born September 19, 1950 in Utica, NY a son of Lester and Mary Deck Daymont. Mr. Daymont attended Utica area schools until moving to Watertown in 1964. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1968 and attended one year a...t Jefferson Community College. Mr. Daymont married Virginia LaVancha June 25, 1977 at St. Mary’s Church in Copenhagen with Reverend Robert Cotter officiating. Mr. Daymont started his working career with his dad at Onondaga Auto Parts and a variety of other auto parts stores that included; Petrie’s Auto Part and Don’s Auto Parts. From 1980, until he retired in 2008 due to illness, he worked for Standard Auto Parts. Mr. Daymont enjoyed bowling and bowled in the Standard Auto Parts league. He also enjoyed traveling the United States with his family, Lake Placid was one of his favorite destinations. Surviving besides his wife is a son Robert II (Megan), Hammond, a daughter Leona (Robert) Sharp, Watertown, a brother Lester (Mary), Sackets Harbor, two sisters Mary Sweeny (Jim) Sperryville, NY, Laure (Bill) Heatherington, Rochester, NY, two grandchildren Madison Rose and Ryan Michael Sharp. Calling hours will be from 9-11AM Saturday, November 7 at Cleveland Funeral Home, Inc. A funeral service will be immediately following at 11AM with Reverend Frank Natale officiating. George K. Tibbles Jr., 50, passed away at Samaritan Medical Center early morning on Friday, October 23, 2020 after a lengthy battle with illness. George was born June 5, 1970 in New London, Connecticut to George Tibbles Sr. and Sheila Dart. He graduated high school in his home town and soon after moved to Watertown, NY. He spent 11 years working for various cab companies here in Watertown before he became disabled due to illness. He spent his time surrounded by the close fri...ends that he made his family. He enjoyed using his time to make sure they were always taken care of and loved doing special things for his loved ones. The ones closest to his heart were his dogs; Tank, passed away June 2017, and his most recent baby, Gruff. George loved loud, fast cars, loud music, rock or hip hop, and riding ATVs and 4-wheelers. George will be lovingly remembered by his lifetime companion of 20 years, Brenda Robinson, his children, Krishna (Justin) Cain, Michael (Jordan) Robinson, Larkin Harvey, his six grandchildren Gabriel, Justin, Hailey, Mathew, Emma, Carter and his Mother, Father, and sister, Jaime Tibbles of Chico, California, and all of his close friends. A private service will be held on Friday, October 30, 2020 followed by a Celebration of Life for close friends and family. Angeline M. Marra, 93, Palmer St, Watertown, passed away on Thursday, October 22 at Samaritan Keep Home where she was a resident. Angeline was born on September 28, 1927 to the late John Sr. and Sara Messina Derrigo, one of ten children.... She married Anthony P. Marra on September 27, 1948. Mr. Marra was the son of the late Phillip and Frances Yaria Marra. Mr. Marra served in the US Army during WWII and was employed as a welder for Conrail until his death on February 4, 1981. Angeline was formerly employed by Dalton's Catholic Shop for many years until her retirement. She is survived by six children, Frances Mosher and her late husband Mason Mosher, Annmarie (Andrew) Iannetta, David (Susan) Marra, Paul (Carolyn) Marra, Phillip (Fiancée, Carolann Agosh) Marra, Christine (Frederick) Marra, 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Laura Felice, Lucy Priolo, 3 brothers, Rocco, Michael, and Joseph. Four brothers, John, Frank, Peter, and Dominic predeceased her. Calling hours will be Tuesday, October 27, 4-8 p.m. at Cleveland Funeral Home, Watertown. Dwayne C. Francis was born on October 11, 1961 to the late Carolyn R. and Alfred W. Francis in Wilmington, DE. He departed this life on October 12, 2020 at his home in Calcium, NY. Dwayne received his early education in the public schools of Delaware graduating from Wilmington High School in 1979. He furthered his education attending Goldey Beacom College and the United States Army Academy of Health Sciences where he served 6 years. Dwayne was an avid Philadelphia 76ers and ...Eagles fan. He enjoyed riding his Harley, shopping, and attending sporting events. Since 1991, Dwayne was employed at Occupational Medicine Associates until his untimely death. Born and raised in Elmira, New York, she graduated from Elmira High School and Endicott College. She was predeceased by her parents, Grant and Leona Little and her sister Pauline Mills. Her husband of 59 years, Robert E. DeKalb passed away in 2007. CHAUMONT- George Sipos, 83, of State Rte. 12E passed away on Friday, October 2nd, 2020. Arrangements have been entrusted to Becker-Cleveland Funeral Home, Chaumont. George was born on February 11th, 1937 in Hungary to Ferencz and Maria (Korpic) Sipos. George’s early life was filled with hardship, from escaping communist Hungary when he was 12, to moving to America at 19, one bag in hand, in search for political asylum. George believed in second chances and overcoming obstacl...es. He grew and worked hard to own bakeries in New Jersey and New York, employing many. His passion was to bake and cook, and anyone who has had his food can vouch that it was the best there ever was. He did these things not only because he loved to, but because he never wanted a single soul to go hungry. In his free time, George enjoyed spending time with his wife and family, going on adventures and exploring as much of the world as he could. George never met a stranger, anyone who met him said it felt like they had known him for years. You could catch George watching old Western movies, snuggling on the couch with his wife, or planting flowers and vegetables in his yard. He always found music to sing and dance to, whether on the radio or singing it himself. George’s family imagines him with the angels, sitting with a large, juicy steak in front of him, telling jokes to make everyone laugh. His heart was always open to love and care for those around him. George is survived by his wife, Maria; step-daughter, Kinga, with husband, Stan, and children, Dominika, Patrick, Olivia, and Eric, of New Jersey; daughter-in-law, Patricia, with children, Jacob and Jenna, of New Hampshire; nieces, Maggie and Nancy with families; his beloved kitty Angel along with many other relatives and friends who miss him dearly. George is predeceased by his parents, 3 brothers and beloved son, Frank. Peggy along with her husband Paul owned and operated a Dairy Farm in Cape Vincent for over 50 years. Peggy enjoyed gardening, cooking, bird watching and spending time with her family. Mr. Merrill Joseph Steve Longamore, Jr., age 82 of Dallas, Georgia died September 16, 2020. A native of Watertown, NY, Mr. Longamore was born on January 25, 1938 the son of the late Mary Ellen Douglas Longamore and Merrill Joseph Longamore, Sr. Prior to his retirement, Steve as he was affectionately known, served 27 years in the United States Army serving two tours in Vietnam. He was a member of the V.F.W., the American Legion, and the Vietnam Veterans of America. He was ...of the Catholic faith and was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Lynn Gerke Longamore on August 29, 2016. WATERTOWN, NY W. Dennis O’Driscoll, 79, passed away Saturday morning, Sept. 19, 2020, at Samaritan Summit Village where he had been a resident since March. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cleveland Funeral Home of Watertown, NY. Born Dec. 27, 1940, to the late John W. and Dorothy (Christman) O’Driscoll, he graduated from Immaculate Heart Academy in 1961 and later in life took classes at Jefferson Community College.... Dennis worked for the City of Watertown Department of Public Works for 37 years retiring in 2004. Dennis was a communicant of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, Watertown. He was kind and very generous in supporting humanitarian causes. One of his favorites was in paying it forward to Immaculate Heart Central (Academy) so that others would be able to attend as he had. He was known for his love of books and reading and was well versed in all the sciences. He could be seen often at the movie theater in the mall or filling up at a good church dinner. He enjoyed over 100 white-water rafting trips down the Black River. Dennis is survived by a brother and his wife, Stephen and Susan O’Driscoll, The Woodlands, TX, and his adopted family Kathleen and Mark Pierce and Maret and Sean Salsbury and their families. A graveside service for Dennis will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020, in Glenwood Cemetery, Watertown. All are invited to attend with face masks and social distancing required. Watertown, NY Mary M. Stevens, 96, originally from Chaumont, NY, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2020, at the Samaritan Summit Village, Watertown. Arrangements have been entrusted to Becker-Cleveland Funeral Home, Chaumont. Mary was born on May 18, 1924, Mary Mattie Fleming, in Watertown to the late Carl and Hildred Mills-Fleming. She married Harlow Stevens. Harlow passed away on January 3, 2003. Mary and Harlow operated a dairy farm on the Carthage-Naumberg Road, e...njoyed summers at their cottage on Lake Bonaparte, and Mary was employed with Agway and Farney Lumber Company of Carthage. Mary was a member of the Champion Methodist Church and the Methodist Women’s Organization. She was an avid quilter, creating quilts for family members, and enjoyed cooking and family celebrations around her table. Mary is survived by her sons, Gordon (Lorrie) Stevens and Richard (Jean) Stevens, both of Fort Myers, FL, and Thomas (Peg) Stevens of Chaumont; a sister, Margaret Bertram, Ellisburg, eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Along with her husband and parents, Mary is predeceased by a daughter, Connie Stevens and her brothers Frederick and Gordon Fleming. Due to the Coronavirus, there will be no services at this time. WATERTOWN- Ruth E. (Doxtater) Farrell, 76, of Watertown passed away on Tuesday September 15th, 2020 under the care of Hospice of Jefferson County. Arrangements are entrusted to Cleveland Funeral Home Inc., Watertown. She was born in Watertown on January 29th, 1944 (along with her twin brother Robert) to the late Lawrence and Dorothy (Doolittle) Doxtater. After her education in Antwerp, NY and Indian River Central Schools she married Gerald Farrell who was killed in combat in ...Vietnam in 1967. She resided in Watertown for most of her life until moving to Florida where she loved the warmer weather. She returned to Watertown in 2004. Ruthie worked in restaurants while in Watertown. She enjoyed the football season, especially the Buffalo Bills, working on puzzles, and her art projects. Her TV interests were documentaries and movie channels. She was very well liked by many who knew her. She is survived by her brother Robert (Linda) Doxtater, her sisters Sally J. Doxtater and Karen A. Culbertson. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents, sister and brother in law: Linda and Lee Miller, and a nephew Jon Miller. Paul was born on March 6th, 1930 in Lynnbrook, NY to the late William and Emma Lou Alfke. Paul retired from Jefferson County as an engineer. He also was a member of the board of Directors in the Village of Black River. Paul was an accomplished marksman in several pistol leagues in the a...rea, along with the Northern Tier Trap League. He also enjoyed golfing with friends, and gardening. He married Joan Blaich in 1954 in Watertown. They moved to Black River in 1975. They also enjoyed spending winters in Sun City Center, Florida. He is survived by his wife Joan. He is predeceased by a son David. A graveside service will be held on Friday September 18th, 2020 at Brookside Cemetery.
