HIGH WIND WARNING and FLOOD WATCH issued by the National Weather Service for Dutchess County. A High Wind Warning is effective 4pm tonight until 10am for Eastern Dutchess County and a Wind Advisory is in effect for the entire County. A Flood Watch has also been issued until 6pm tomorrow for Dutchess County. A weather system containing Strong to Destructive winds is expected to impact Dutchess County tonight into tomorrow. Heavy rainfall is expected to begin tonight and cont...inue into the morning. The rainfall combined with mild temperatures leading to rapid snow melt creates a potential for flooding in low lying, urban, and river areas. The National Weather Service is projecting Dutchess County will receive 1.5 to 2+ inches of rain during this event. Maximum wind gusts of 45 to 54 mph are possible. Strong and Destructive wind gusts are more probable on the eastern side of the County. * Residents should secure outdoor holiday decorations and other items they may have in their yards. Due to the potential soft ground and high winds, there is potential for trees to come down creating power outages tonight into tomorrow morning. REMEMBER - Never approach a downed wire. #BeSafe

This dramatic increase mea...ns it may take longer to investigate confirmed cases or notify close contacts - even with additional staff on board! Therefore, you might not get a call as quickly as we would like - so we need your help to stop the spread to others! As soon as you know you are positive: - Start isolating - Notify your close contacts and advise them to quarantine It is more important than ever to protect yourself and your family against COVID-19. Whenever you are around or with others outside of your household: - Wear a Mask - Physical Distance - Wash your hands
