Fort Delaware

It is with deep sadness that we relay the passing of Deborah Kane, a longtime re-enacting volunteer at Fort Delaware. She and her husband George constantly delivered a wonderful sense of authentic history during the Fort's student days and throughout the seasons. We send our condolences to her family and friends, as well as our thanks for sharing her with us (and all those who visited the Fort)!

Sullivan County's Office of Parks, Recreation and Beautification sends its condolences to the friends and family of Dave Hulse, our Senior Visitor Experience As...sociate for the D&H Canal Interpretive Center in Summitville. The longtime Barryville resident started with us as the Director of County Historical Sites in 2013 and remained with us until his death this past weekend. Thanks in great part to his love of local history and his decades of reporting with The River Reporter newspaper, Dave was full of useful and fascinating knowledge about the County and its colorful past.
