Genesee Valley Citizens for Peace 31.01.2021

Our celebration of the Treaty on Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons received excellent coverage in the Livingston County News issue of January 28th. The reporter understood what we were doing and described it accurately. https://gvcp.org//coverage-of-our-celebration-on-january-/

On January 22nd, members of Genesee Valley Citizens for Peace and Veterans for Peace Rochester Chapter 23 celebrated the first day of The Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW), which has entered into force. About 20 people came together to welcome the beginning of the end for nuclear weapons, as church bells rang throughout the village. Holly Adams hosted the celebration by reading from the TPNW. It was cold and windy, but people who attended said that this historic day deserved celebration. Peace, Arnie Matlin for GVCP https://gvcp.org//nuclear-weapons-are-illegal-geneseo-ny-/

Dear GVCP Activist, Livingston County will celebrate it’s 200th anniversary in 2021. The Livingston County News issued a special bicentennial supplement on January 7th. GVCP has a prominent ad on page 6 of the supplement. I don’t know how others feel, but I’m tired of people telling me, I didn’t even know GVCP existed. Maybe the ad will bring our presence to people’s attention.... https://gvcp.org//gvcp-livingston-county-news-bicentennia/

Dear GVCP Member, An historic antinuclear event at the U.N. took place recently. It may have been overlooked during the drama of the U.S. elections. However, it’s truly of extreme importance. GVCP member Holly Adams wrote an essay on the prohibition of nuclear weapons. It provides the information we all need about this very positive event. Peace, Arnie Matlin for GVCP https://gvcp.org/2020/11/gvcp-historic-ratification/
