Geneva Theatre Guild 28.05.2021

Geneva Theatre Guild is accepting proposals for productions between September and December 2021! The deadline for all submissions is May 21. To submit, use our Proposal Form here: https://tinyurl.com/3hf82f9s Directors should include in their proposals: a résumé, a one-page budget, a copy of the script (or a detailed synopsis of the show if the script is not available), a statement describing your vision for the production, a list of any creative elements that may be require...d, and a list of staff members who have already agreed to work on the production if it is selected. Proposed productions must meet the following criteria as we navigate the reopening of theatres amid the COVID-19 pandemic: 1) A small play or musical with a cast of no more than six actors who must be masked when they are not on stage. 2) Low technical requirements so that there are not more than three production team members in the room who will remain masked and distanced from the cast. 3) Productions will be performed live but must have streaming rights available in case we cannot safely allow an audience in the theatre. 4) Directors and production team members must be flexible as we adapt to updates and changes in CDC health guidance.

From GTG Board Member Eleanor Sterns: The theatre world lost a shining star on December 18th, Larry Ann Evans. She found us many years ago (I'll look it up in the minutes) when she auditioned for a play and then became a valuable member of the Geneva Theatre Guild Board of Dirctors. Larry Ann was a vibrant, talented, vivacious woman overflowing with creative ideas. She served as President of the Guild for several terms, directed. produced, and acted in more plays than can b...e listed here. She was a talented actor who could portray any age or emotion, even tackling the part of Patsy in our production of Spamalot. When her cancer started to limit her appearance on stage she somewhat laughingly begrudged that her last role would be that of Patsy rather than something glamorous. Larry Ann served as coordinator of the Geneva Theatre Guild Youth Theatre and the Curvin Playground Players. Her influence has guided many young people over the years helping them to learn all the skills that go into producing a high quality show. Her spirit and zest for life will remain with us challenging us to hold community theatre to high standards and always to have fun doing it! See more
