Glen Cove Oral Surgery would like to thank our patients for all the patience they’ve shown over the last three difficult months. As many know, we have been treating patients on an emergency basis; attempting to keep the ERs clear of dental related infections and tooth related pain. We have progressively added new protocols, while keeping our patients and ourselves safe. Whenever possible, we will see only one patient at a time with escorts being asked to wait outside or in th...eir car until they are called. Instead of our usual post anesthesia recovery area, we plan to have a dedicated room. Emerging patients will recover with staff and an escort, to avoid interactions with incoming patients. Plexiglass shields have been installed at our front desk. Our front desk staff will perform temperature checks and screening. The surgical rooms now have hospital grade air purifiers and supplemental high speed vacuums, as well as disinfectant room foggers. The doctors and surgical assistants have been and will continue to utilize the best PPE available. The entire office from entrance to exit, will be deeply sanitized between patients throughout the day creating a sterile safe environment for treatment. All this has been added to our previous meticulous most up to date infection control to keep our families and staff safe! Our patients who were scheduled for procedures in the last three months will soon be receiving calls from our staff to reschedule. Our office is open and seeing only emergencies which specifically include patients with acute pain and swelling, infections, and fractured or broken teeth that are causing pain and or infection. This is to alleviate the stress on the emergency rooms. That said we are limiting our usual staff and altering our usual hours. We will allow one escort to accompany our patients and will space appointments to keep our waiting room sparse. If you feel sick in any way please let our staff know. We will be available Monday and Wednesday from 9-3 pm and Thursday and Friday from 1 to 5 pm. We of course will be available 24 hrs via our service. Our office is open during this crisis for dental emergencies. Our goal is to keep the hospital ER’s free to treat severe medical emergencies. A dental emergency includes anyone having pain, swelling, infection, and broken teeth in need of immediate care. We will try to maintain our normal schedule for the time being.
