Glens Falls Symphony 12.06.2021

Throw back to that glorious Beethoven's Ninth performance exactly two years ago today. Hard to believe this was only two years ago - so much has changed between then and now! But the triumph of Beethoven's "Ode to Joy"...truly uplifting and eternal. https://fb.watch/5isR9FG1Zy/

Music Director Charles Peltz shares this about Glens Falls Symphony’s "Healing in Harmony" virtual concert and art experience: "Living in a virtual world for the past year has made us more highly attuned to the visual. Nothing appeals more to the eye than captivating paintings and nothing engages the ear more than extraordinary music expertly played. In this joint presentation of painting and music, the music acts like a specially placed light shining on a painting; it illum...ines the image and draws us to experience it in a new way. It has been our pleasure to join the visual and the musical in this unique collaboration with another jewel of the North Country - The Hyde Collection". Healing in Harmony" begins streaming Sunday, May 2, 4pm and will be available to midnight, June 1. If you haven’t yet subscribed for access to watch this inspiring concert event, visit https://theglensfallssymphony.org/ for your free subscription, made possible through generous sponsorship from Glens Falls National Bank and Trust Company.

Looking forward to less difficult time signatures in the weeks and months to come... #glensfallssymphony #volunteersareawesome #thingsarelookingup

Buy Some Art & Support the Symphony! Local artist Diane Swanson is selling prints of her recent work, "Nostalgic Overture", as a small fundraiser to benefit the Glens Falls Symphony. The painting depicts Glens Falls Symphony's annual Independence Day concert in Crandall Park and is a nostalgic look back to not so long ago, when large crowds of people could come together to simply enjoy live music on a hot summer night. Prints are $25 each and include a window mat; for each print sold, the artist will donate $7 back to the Symphony. For more info on how to order, go to http://www.dianeswansonart.com/
