I just want to comment on the NFL protests and the reaction by the President. He forgets that free speech and the right to peaceful protest is just as important as his right to criticize. He doesn't understand that our nation is the product of protest (Tea Party) and Revolution. He also doesn't understand what the players are protesting against. They were not protesting the flag or the national anthem. They were protesting racial injustice and police brutality against brown a...nd black people. Huge difference! Who can deny that our nation was created during a genocide against the Native American population, and with the help of African slaves a fact, not an argument. And we have done nothing as a nation to atone for these sins...in fact our new President actually made things much worse for the Native Americans who were protesting the DAPL pipeline on their sacred land. I respect the flag. I respected the anthem until I learned of the third stanza (which is not sung).. Which speaks of slavery and cruelty to slaves...Francis Scott Key was a white supremacist and pro-slavery hate monger. So we haven't come very far! #timefornewAnthem! I respect all those who served our nation in battle, and I respect all those who protest when we fail to correct racial bias and injustice and brutality. Maybe those who decry the protesters should consider some basic human respect too. So far the NFL protests have been respectful...can't say the same for the President's response. He is just dead wrong. See more

Congratulations to President Obama, Sen. Gillibrand, Rep. Dan Maffei, Al Stirpe, Bill Magnarelli, and Julie Cecile on your outstanding victories on Tuesday! And a heartfelt thank you to everyone who knocked on a door, took a lawn sign, carried petitions, donated time, money talent, made phone calls, blogged, researched, sat in Democratic Committee meetings, cast votes for nominations, spoke to your neighbors, and worked to get out the vote, and all the great Election Inspectors who kept things moving at the polls on Tuesday despite unprecedented turnout! You all deserve the gratitude of the electeds...you got them there!

Since when is paying your fair share as an American "Class Warfare." Romney's peeps are all over tv & the web defending his moronic remarks which attacked "47% of Americans" as victims and losers and people with no personal responsibility! Many of these are our veterans, seniors, the disabled, and hard working people who are struggling every day to lift themselves & their children out of poverty. Shame on Romney for attacking any Americans, and shame on the GOP for accusing us of class warfare when we simply ask the rich to pay the same tax amount they paid under their sainted Reagan! They actually do know better...they just don't care...just like they won't let the "fact checkers dictate the campaign"!

Announcing: 10/1/12 at 6:30 pm At Village Green Community Room- we will have our annual Lit-pak Assembly & pizza party!!! Campaigns will join us in having a nice dinner, then we will roll up our sleeves & make lit-paks with campaign lit for all the Democratic candidates. When done, we will divvy them up & go forth to spend October going door to door in Van Buren, delivering the packets & our message: "If you like the American Dream, You may want to vote Democratic, because the GOP only wants the Dream for themselves & their rich investors/donors!"
