Halloween is always a fun time at Willow Pond. As in the past, there was a week-long list of activities starting with a reading of ghost stories; followed by a showing of the movie Hocus Pocus (always a favorite), a Halloween Happenings Happy Hour and concluding with a friends and family parade on Saturday. Luckily the rain on Saturday held off long enough for friends, family members, grandchildren, residents and staff to parade their costumes around the outside of the building. Some residents were outside cheering us on while some waved and watched from their apartments. Afterward, we all gathered for cider and donuts and every child was able to pick a pumpkin from our pumpkin patch to take home.

It was a sweet afternoon for the residents of Willow Pond on Thursday. Netsin's ice cream truck arrived just in time for after lunch desserts or early afternoon sweet-tooth indulgences. Hosted by Community Life, the residents were treated to their choice of six different ice cream flavors and toppings. And, since it was such a gorgeous late summer afternoon, many residents were able to take advantage of the warmth and enjoy their delicious choices outside.

New welcome signs will soon be decorating the hallways of Legacy at Willow Pond. Our many talented residents met Saturday morning at "Crafting with Anne" to take plain round wood circles and turn them into the most inviting door decorations. A huge shoutout and heartfelt thank you to all who came out and supported our fundraiser chicken BBQ and basket raffle for the Alzheimer's Association on June 19th! Together we raised over $2000 for this wonderful cause. The weather cooperated perfectly and everyone from dining services to maintenance to residents to the management team pitched in to help to make sure the event ran smoothly.
