The University will be doing away with academic minors, making it so students will only be able to graduate with one or more majors. Students who are not eligible for work-study at Post have been restricted from working on campus as of the fall 2020 semester. This has created a lot of friction between students who previously had jobs on campus and were unable to return, as well as students who now want jobs, and the administration. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo repealed a 1976 New York State law known as the walking while trans law on Feb. 2. The law was an anti-loitering policy that was put in place to reduce prostitution, but was often used to harass and arrest transgender people. The Fine Arts Center (FAC) has been undergoing construction since the beginning of the spring semester, resulting in classes being moved from the building with no prior warning, according to several affected students. The university will receive $7,007,826 of the $2 trillion stimulus package passed by Congress, according to the Department of Education, to address the economic fallout caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. This aid comes after the school temporarily laid off some workers, and after it denied reimbursements to students for tuition and housing. The Pioneer gained a lot more than a copyeditor when Chicago-native Ashley Bowden joined in 2016. Since then she has become co-editor-in-chief leading the Pioneer staff and writing more than 50 stories in the process.
