Took the last of our flock to the butcher today. Looking back on our third season raising animals here. Thinking about the winter to come, how our freezers are full and our home is warm. But this is not the case with so many others. We have so much yet our neighbors wether they be near to us or further south across some unseeable line have so little. I don't know what the answer is, but listen to solutions that start with love, compassion, and understanding, and not to those ...that seek to push blame, punishment, and indifference. Pig season is wrapping up. Butcher Date is Sept 15th. I'll do a longer post of what our system looked like this year. But these Meishan Crosses are looking good. The main thing I noticed is that their bellies are huge, lots of Bacon in our future! If you didn't get any pork this year, shoot us a message for next year! You want to get on our list early!
