A big thank you to our amazing Religious School teachers, staff, clergy, children and families for a wonderful year. We all enjoyed a visit from the ice cream truck today!

A Message From Rabbi Shalhevet: As rockets fly and sirens blare in our land of Israel, I recognize that my heart is in the East. I find myself singing every melody I know to Psalm 122 over and over again. Jerusalem is built, like a city that is bound together, for it is there that the tribes of God ascend...Seek peace for Jerusalem, may all those around her prosper. May there be peace within your walls, Oh Jerusalem. For the sake of my family and friends, Peace be with you.... Jerusalem, a quartered city with so many claiming it as home. Israel, a divided and yet incredibly united country - homeland to many as its claimants as well. For all the children studying virtually for school, not because of an illness, but because they are in bomb shelters today. For children who do not know fireworks, but rather the glow of missiles being destroyed by Israel’s Iron Dome. For parents who don’t even bother trying to put their children to sleep because they will just wake up in a few moments from another explosion. For the elderly who have no way of running for safety in time. I pray for an end to violence. I pray for peace. May we all take one moment, one moment out of our blessedly war-free lives to pause and pray for our brothers and sisters in Israel. For Israeli and Palestinian children who just want to play outside with their friends. May there be peace once again. May God watch over all of God’s children today and always and bless them with life and peace. Amen.
