We are excited to announce our new group, Mind Over Matter! With this group, participants will identify recurring themes that may contribute to anxiety and/or interpersonal challenges, gain insight around these recurring patterns, explore strategies to deconstruct those cycles and develop new, empowering ones. While doing so, members will have the opportunity to share a space with others who can empathize over shared experiences. In addition, participants will be given CBT ho...mework assignments between sessions to ensure that their learning and growth extends beyond the weekly, one hour group sessions. https://www.instagram.com/p/CPbney7jRnP/ See more

Dating in New York City is a challenge, but dating with anxiety in New York City can feel almost like an impossible task. For individuals who struggle with anxiety, worry and excessive negative thinking can often feel uncontrollable. For individuals who are in or looking for a romantic relationship that are struggling with anxiety, our own thoughts often create barriers to feeling good enough for a relationship. If you feel that anxiety is interfering with your love life, her...e are some coping skills to try: . Affirm yourself!: Speak your strengths! Tell yourself that you are worth it, beautiful, and loveable! Cognitively distorted thoughts have the ability to control your self-esteem. Take back that control and remind yourself that you are worth it! . Schedule worry time!: If worrying about that special someone feels inevitable, create space to worry and limit that space to only a short amount of time. Acknowledge your worries and fears about dating and remind yourself that your worrying will not fix anything! . Speak with a therapist!: If you struggle with anxiety around dating and relationships, DM us or head to the link in our bio to book an appointment with a therapist today! https://www.instagram.com/p/CLCg2XQjp8i/

This Thanksgiving is a unique one, and many individuals might not be spending the holidays with loved ones. For many individuals, Thanksgiving is a time for us to focus on what we are thankful for in life while spending time with loved ones. This year, if you are unable to be with your loved ones, here are some suggestions for creating a special holiday for yourself! . Create new traditions!: Since many of us are not able to uphold regular traditions this Thanksgiving, what ...new traditions can we implement this year? Watch a festive holiday movie or test out a new recipe! . Virtual Holidays: If you can’t go to your family or friends, bring family and friends to you! Use zoom, facetime or other video calls to keep your holiday cheerful with family and friends as best as you can! . Volunteer your time: If you are unable to be with family or friends this year, try to search for local volunteer opportunities in your area so that you can create community while giving back on the holidays! . Practice Self Care: Thanksgiving might be a unique time to be alone, so spend it focusing on you! Spend time doing hobbies and activities that make you feel relaxed or happy such as yoga, meditation or pampering yourself! . Feel your feelings!: If you are feeling sad or emotional being alone on this Thanksgiving, that is normal and OKAY. Feel your feelings, allow yourself to feel sad, or cry. It is important to remember that life will not be like this forever, but for the moment it is okay to not feel okay. . Remember what you are thankful for: While this year might not be ideal, try to remember the things in life that we are thankful for such as fresh air, family, friends, hobbies or even just being alive. . . . . #mentalhealthawareness#emotionalhealth#refreshnyc#refresh#refreshnewyorkcity#refreshny#ny#nyc#newyorkcity#brooklyn#mentalhealth#psychotherapy#stressmanagement#selflove#selfcare#therapy#wednesdaymood#wednesday#thanksgiving#anxiety#stress#family#holidays#holiday#stressmanagement#depression#alone#tradition#family See more
