Well, til I can figure this out here is Steve hanging out in his crop of Comet....kid brother to a famous citrus variety!
Finally got to spend a few minutes with my man Steve! He has redesigned a new toy....hope the video loads! Darn I think it's just a photo....let me try again...
End of a long day, you know it was exciting though when the 4wheeler has to pull the mower pulling the trailer through this muck!
Back at it again today. Moving a little slower, fresh air makes you tired! Steve is still working hard! One thing is for sure, he feeds us well when we work. Hots and burgers off the grill. On a beautiful day!
Long day, just got done, 1/2 the yard is strung. Great job by all that participated!
It's that time of year!!
Larch poles, for more than just the hop yard!
Getting geared up for 2 classes! Hops 101, the beginners class...getting to know about hops, what it takes to set up a yard, basic info for fertilization and care....a lot of info that has been used and some is still in practice...HOPS 102 is for the hop producer that needs some fine tuning on the use of fertilizers, herbicides and cultural practices. Also, some info on harvesting, pelletizing and post harvest practices. Looking at an all day affair on Saturday, November 4th. 101 starts at 9 running til 12 noon. 102 starts at 1 runs til 4. Lunch will be available along with hot beverages. If you are interested PLEASE email me at [email protected] for details!
Well, harvest has started.....it's hard to see the giants come down.....
Great day for a tour yesterday! Thanks to the Monroe County CCE Master Gardener participants for visiting us! I hope everyone had a splendid time. We just love showing off our hard work. There's a lot of dust at the barn......
Another project on the done side.....weeded AND mulched! Woohoo!
While Steve is hanging out in Ohio, I get to be here. It's just amazing how big these plants get. Something about this place....lovin' it!
We would like to welcome Cornell Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners Program and Harris Seeds/Garden Trends to the farm on Tuesday, August 8th at 1 PM. We will be touring the yard, answering questions and introducing our hard working crop. If you are interested in touring with us please contact me via Facebook OR email [email protected] to let me know. This will be a ONE hour tour to answer questions about the hops. THIS IS NOT A HOPS 101 class!!!!
