Total Body Boot Camp and Performance Center 14.01.2021

My 2 year old daughter Sophia just looked out the window and said, Oh no the car is gone. I had to tell her that it was just covered in snow. Lol Anyway, I had to share this with you on this snowy New York day!... Paula has been a friend of mine for a couple of years but she became a client over the summer, right smack in the middle of the pandemic. To say that Paula didn’t let the pandemic stop her is an understatement! I’d love for you to watch the 2:41 video but here is what really stood out for me. First, of course, is her results. She’s lost even more after recording this video. She is stronger, more flexible, and down about 20 pounds! While many people gained the quarantine fifteen, she’s down more than that! I also love how she shares that she is able to work around any limitations. Paula is a designer/painter (and a darn good one) and needs to stay healthy for the sake of her livelihood. Many people think because they have a knee, shoulder, or foot issue that they can’t do anything. The truth is that we all have limitations. There is no perfect specimen. Heck, just this morning I’ve worked with several people who can’t squat or lunge right now. This is my favorite part. She says, I feel like I matter. Paula put into words what I feel so strongly about. We care not just about the results but about the person we are training. Everyone has a story and everyone’s story matters. While I summed up the video, there’s nothing like hearing it directly from Paula. Plus, she speaks with a brogue that you can listen to all day! *What’s the point of getting older if you can’t do anything? I wanted to share a powerful quote from yesterday. I was coaching a session in the morning and while we do have more and more people coming to the gym, this session happened to be a little lighter. ... After finishing up, a client of ours looked around and said, Where is everyone? What could be safer than this? My favorite part of this story is the age of the person who said it. 71. He went on to tell me that he’s hoping to still have some runway in his life but didn’t see the point of getting older if he couldn’t do anything. It was inspiring to hear. This guy truly wants to LIVE his life and he realizes he can’t do that to the fullest if he isn’t in good health. I’m glad he feels so safe and he’s not the only one. In fact he wasn’t even the only person in his seventies to come in yesterday. While everyone is entitled to their own beliefs (and there is no judgement), I think the point still remains. Nothing happens without us taking action. Check out this amazing quote from Estee Lauder. I never dreamed about success. I worked for it. Regardless of your current situation and/or limitations, what can you do to improve your situation? The individual mentioned here loves coming and is getting great results. He deserves those results. Our team has come alongside and encouraged, motivated, and guided him but he made the decision and is doing the work. We love helping people so much that we are putting the finishing touches on a world class program starting in February. Stay tuned for that! Billy P.S. *Patience How’s that for an unsexy subject line? Patience isn’t exactly the thing that most people are looking for.... Most of the time, it took us time to get where we are so it's going to take time to get to a more ideal place. I just wanted to send a quick reminder about the importance of it and to encourage you. There is a universal law that says good things take time. As much as we try to avoid it, we can’t. I’m of the belief that we can have anything (almost) we want if we are willing to sacrifice for long enough. Is it worth it? You bet! There aren’t many things that can compare to the feeling of a worthy goal pursued and reached. It’s not easy. Don’t let anyone tell you it is. If it were, you’d see beautiful marriages and fit bodies all around you. What’s ironic about fitness (or any area) is that there will be pain either way. You can deal with the pain now of working out so you can reap the rewards later. Or you can ignore your health now and have a higher chance of dealing with pain later. I think you’d agree that it makes more sense to do the hard things now to enjoy a better life and be more productive in all areas. It all starts with that first step. I can think of countless examples of people who couldn’t squat well or do a push up when they started. With some hard work and some patience they are now able to do things they wouldn’t have imagined. Thankfully, even with all of the craziness going on, we have a handful of Warriors who started with us in December. Sure, building a new routine can be uncomfortable but they are starting with small habits and I’m beyond excited to see where they will be in a few months. Here’s my advice. Take action now.
