Do Good. Don’t die. That’s the unofficial tagline for UAF volunteers in the field. That line was used more than once by our team in Mali, Africa as our crew and chainsaws partnered with local people and our friends at One Global Village to build a cafeteria/canteen/meeting space for a village and it’s school. An exciting day for the village and our team! Here’s board member Chris Belle to explain.
Game on! A friendly football wager and a little trash talk between UAF board member Cenovio Villa, who lives near Tampa & President John Alex, who grew up in Kansas City but now lives in New York. Brady is my age.. you know, In our prime, said Villa. ... Brady's Patriot rings ain't going to help you, Tampa boy, is the message from Alex. A box of Havana cigars vs a box of NY strips. Make a donation here and cast a vote for your favorite team when check you out through Pay Pal. Good luck! https://www.unitedaidfoundation.org/donate
A thank you note from Mattie Rhodes Center in Kansas City, Missouri. UAF is proud to help communities in need through our partnership with YouGiveGoods throughout the United States.
Why do we do what we do? So that we can help people like Jackie Patrick, whose home was all but destroyed by Hurricane Dorian. We are proud to work alongside partners such as Brad Carlton & Team Adventure in helping Jackie and her neighbors get back on their feet. If you would like to help in the effort you can donate here. https://www.unitedaidfoundation.org/donate
"We must walk on in the days ahead with an audacious faith in the future. UAF will just that as we honor the legacy of Dr. King.
These happy kids from Haiti have a message for you and our friends at Hope for Haiti Healing! Thanks to generous donations they will all be going to school, in kindergarten- 4th grade. Thank you to everyone for your support. With your help, we can offer an education to even more children who want to learn. https://www.unitedaidfoundation.org/donate
We accomplished a lot during 2020. With your help UAF will do even better in 2021. Bringing direct aid to people in crisis!
When tragedy befalls one of our UAF volunteers, it affects us all. Tonight our hearts go out to Cenovio Villa and his family. His young sister, Estella was recently killed in a car accident. She was a bright light and will be deeply missed.
United Aid Foundation and our partners at hope for Haiti Healing funded a new home for Manita, a widow and her three children. Due to the pandemic, our U.S. volunteers were unable to be there, so the local men we have been training built it by themselves. Judging by the gratitude of this happy family, our team did a great job!
Bob Pash passed away recently, after a valiant 20-year battle with cancer. All who knew Bob described him as a class act and consummate gentleman. Many thanks to our supporters who joined forces with our friends at YouGiveGoods and Columbia University alums. With your help, we were able to raise over $10-thousand dollars for Oasis, a Haven for Women and Children, in Bob’s honor.
Help UAF give much-needed food and diapers to families in need while honoring the life of a kind and humble friend.
UAF pres. John Alex meeting up with volunteer Bruce Levin in Rockefeller Center, New York. It’s the first time they have seen other since February when the pandemic began. Please keep wearing your masks & practice social distance so we can travel safely & easily to deliver direct aid to people in crisis!
Peace is not an absence of war, it is a virtue, a state of mind, a disposition for benevolence, confidence, justice. Baruch Spinoza Happy World Peace Day-
UAF is based in New York where several of our volunteers lost friends, colleagues and even a parent. We will never forget that terrible day. As long as our organization is here we will travel across countries, cultures and divides to make the world a better place- the best remembrance and tribute we can hope to offer.
One year ago United Aid Foundation volunteers were headed to the Bahamas to deliver desperately needed aid. Our team departed on a boat big enough to bring shelter relief tents, food, solar lamps, hygiene supplies and grills for cooking hot meals. We are grateful to Brad and Lorraine Carlton of Carlton Industries for the donation of the boat and all they have done since the storm. Thanks to everyone supporting the effort. We all make a difference.
Wishing UAF friends and volunteers a Happy Labor Day! Rest up for the work we have ahead of us!
United Aid Foundation is watching the destructive Hurricane and it’s effects in Texas and Louisiana. We are preparing for a team to travel to help in the recovery. We appreciate your support.
No one can accuse United Aid Foundation volunteers of being conformists. We are a gritty group of do-gooders who don’t always toe the line and sometimes bend the rules to get things done. But when it comes to our families, our friends, the elderly and sick and the well-being of humanity we don’t take risks. When we wear a mask we protect each other. We ask you to do the same so that we can all get through this pandemic alive and get back to traveling the world delivering direct aid to people in crisis.
"If the world ever holds an election for global mayor, John Alex will win." Great story about our founder John Alex in the The Saturday Evening Post by Ken Budd. Please read and share!
Life is hard for almost everyone in Haiti. COVID-19 has made the situation even more desperate. Our team of local volunteers delivers rice, beans and cooking oil to some of the vision-impaired neighbors we support on a monthly basis. We have a message to our donors from those we serve- Mèsi anpil. Thank you very much!
