Some good Monday night training, THANK YOU ALL
Fire Service observation! There are firefighters that are dead due to lack of air! I’m sure the extra air could have saved some brothers. Career Firefighters, c...hecking your SCBA should be done before your morning coffee! If you are a volunteer make sure there is a schedule for inspection. There are no excuses. DO YOUR JOB! Be Safe See more

Be aware you never know what people transport in their vehicles
Last evening WE all lost a truly special man that has touched so many through his lifetime. He was a school teacher, dispatcher 14-7, Rescue Squad Captain 31-7 (he carried that torch and family legacy from his dad Paul) an EMT with NDP to name a few of the obvious things people saw. Most of all, he was just Phil, always with that smile when he saw you, his firm handshake, always there for EVERYONE at ANYTIME, just being Phil, the constant helper, colleague, friend, whatever kind words you can find that was, just Phil. His time has not ended as he’s left lasting memories, knowledge and friendships and kindness, that will never end. May you now Rest In Peace, you shall live forever in all of us, thank you for sharing your incredible journey with us and being, just humble Phil.
A message from Nancy Luther The Wassaic Fire Co and Auxiliary sends a big Thank you to all the community people who supported our Ham Dinner to go! We sold 185 dinners. May you all have blessed Holidays as we continue to deal with everything going on.

Come out and support the auxiliary
It is with deepest sorrow that we have learned of the passing of honorary member Ned Zartman. Ned was an amazing member of both the fire company and rescue squad until his relocation to South Carolina. Our thoughts are with Emily, Nora Kas and Rich, our hearts are heavy, Ned will be greatly missed by all.
Congratulations to our very own Tim Shea and Keely Ann Szabo on their wedding day
No words needed!!!
We the members of the Wassaic Fire Company are pleased to announce that Doug Corrow has been elected to the position of Fire Chief, congratulations Doug and welcome to the 5 bugle club .
This morning we were joined for a water operations drill/training to aid our members taking the Basic Response and Scene Operations in house class to better understand flowing water, evolutions were master stream with the 36-45 and portable deck gun, hose line advancement and nozzle training. Thank you to Dover , Pawling, Pleasant Valley, Millbrook, Millerton, Standfordville and Sharon for providing tankers and a ladder (Dover) Town of Amenia medic crew and 69R1 for watching over the welfare of the members operating and the many mutual aid officers and firefighters that came out to help out, our class has been excellent and knowing we can count on our neighboring FD’s to take the time to make it successful is amazing to watch. In a few hours we transported 70,000 gallons of water.
Thankfully the trooper is ok but yet another reminder as to how dangerous being on the roadway is
It’s been awhile since we’ve been able to do some solid training together, we’ve been over cautious to ensure we stay healthy. We have started an in-house training class: Basic Response and Scene Operations which will cover a vast amount of content totaling 75 hours, we’ll keep you informed with some photos as members progress through the class. This topic was on scene gross decontamination of a firefighter and on scene rehabilitation of a firefighter. Thank to Amenia EMTS Dawn Marie Klingner and Chris Klingner, Town of Amenia medic crew and our members for showing this operation.
Be careful with Fire works please
